Paul Schauwecker, DDS

Family and Cosmetic Dentist in Downtown Denver

Dr. Paul Schauwecker, DDS, provides family and cosmetic dental care at Espire Dental Riverfront in downtown Denver. He brings advanced clinical training and a genuinely calm chairside manner to every appointment, with a focus on restorative dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, and digital dentistry for patients across the greater Denver area.

Inspired by his father’s career in dentistry, Dr. Paul understood early on how much a healthy smile can shape someone’s confidence. That belief still drives his practice today.

Education and advanced dental training

Dr. Paul earned his Bachelor of Arts in Biology cum laude from Colorado College, where he was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. He then earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from Creighton University School of Dentistry, building a strong foundation across all areas of comprehensive dental care.

Following graduation, he completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency at NYU Lutheran Medical Center in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. There, he treated a wide spectrum of complex cases in a community health setting, an experience that sharpened his clinical range and deepened his commitment to accessible, patient-first care.

After several years practicing in Boulder, CO, Dr. Paul joined Espire Dental Riverfront.

Dental services and clinical expertise

At Espire Dental Riverfront, Dr. Paul’s clinical expertise spans:

  • Restorative dentistry: crowns, bridges, implant restorations, and root canal therapy
  • Cosmetic dentistry: veneers, bonding, and smile makeovers
  • Oral health: extractions and periodontal treatments
  • Digital dentistry: CAD/CAM technology and same-day CEREC restorations

His use of digital dentistry tools means fewer appointments and more precise, lasting results for Denver patients.

A calm, unhurried patient experience

Dr. Paul believes great dental care starts before the drill ever turns on. He takes time to explain your options clearly, answer your questions honestly, and make sure you feel genuinely comfortable. Patients consistently describe him as calm, thorough, and easy to talk to.

He finds particular satisfaction in restorative and cosmetic work: the moment a patient sees their repaired smile for the first time, or finally gets relief from pain they have been living with. That outcome, patients feeling better and smiling more freely, is what keeps him engaged in dentistry every day.

Can Dr. Paul help with a chipped, cracked, or damaged tooth?

What is an AEGD residency, and why does it matter?

An Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency is additional hospital-based training completed after dental school. Dr. Paul finished his AEGD at NYU Lutheran Medical Center in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, where he treated a wide spectrum of complex cases in a community health setting. That training broadened his clinical range and shaped his patient-first approach to care.
